Your window tells people outside why they should come in today
Lunch menu, fresh cake from 2 pm, live music tonight: the screen in your window or dining room shows today's specials between local weather and events. You change it from your phone, even mid-service.
In hospitality, guests decide in three seconds
Someone walking down the street hungry at lunchtime decides on the move. If the window shows what's on today and what it costs, the decision is often already made. That is why the chalkboard exists. But it needs rewriting every morning, it smudges in the rain, and at half past two it still shows the lunch menu while the cakes are already on the counter.
Then there are the questions your team answers all day long. Is the beer garden open today? When does the kitchen start? Is there music on Friday? In the dining room, guests wait for a table or the bill, and the TV in the corner plays a channel that has nothing to do with your place.
schaupunkt puts your daily menu, opening hours and programme on a bright screen, in the window for passing trade or in the dining room for your guests. Between your pages run the weather for the next few days, official warnings and local events. When the kitchen closes at 2 pm and the café opens, one tap on your phone and the window shows the cake. Everything is run from the app.
What it looks like at your place
Lunch special in the window
Just before noon in the old town: the inn's window shows the lunch special with its price. Two colleagues on their lunch break stop and walk in.
Switched during service
The kitchen closes, the café opens. The landlady taps her phone at the bar, and the cake of the day appears on the screen above the counter.
In the evening, the programme draws people in
At dusk the beer garden fills up. By the entrance the bright screen announces live music from 7:30, and a passer-by scans the QR code.

A day in the window of an inn with a café
- 8:00 am: Traditional breakfast is on in the dining room. The window shows breakfast and today's weather. People on their way to work make a mental note of the beer garden tonight.
- 11:30 am: The kitchen opens. The lunch special with its price rotates with this week's events. The office across the street has seen it before the queue forms.
- 2:00 pm: The kitchen closes, the café opens. One tap in the app and the window shows homemade cake instead of the lunch menu.
- 5:00 pm: Home time on the street. Your after-work spritz is on, with an ad from the local drinks shop in between, which you earn a share from.
- 7:30 pm: Live music in the beer garden. The programme shines bright at the entrance and a couple scans the QR code. At the family table, two children play a round on a phone until the chips arrive.
Who wants to advertise in a restaurant
Your guests have time and an appetite, and the people passing your window are out and about. That is exactly the audience the regional brewery, the drinks shop, the cinema, the farm shop, the taxi home or the organiser of the next town festival want to reach. You approve every ad yourself and can exclude competitors, such as the restaurant two streets away. You decide whether advertising runs, which ads, and when.
Every location has a fixed ad price, and you share in the revenue. Your share depends on the location, the screen and who provides the player; we lay the terms open and agree them with you in person. Depending on your spot, the screen can pay for itself in part or in full. More under Earn with your window, and how businesses book you under Book advertising.
See what ran and who passed by
Every display is logged with time and screen, your lunch special as well as the brewery's ad. More than 80,000 displays have been recorded this way since 12 September 2026.
If you like, a small sensor inside on the screen counts passers-by and vehicles anonymously, by hour and direction, for an extra €15 a month. It recognises no one and stores no images. You see when the street is busiest at lunchtime and when the evening crowd arrives, and you place your specials right there. Advertisers get media data for your location from counts and logs. More under Sensors.
Frequently asked questions

Pick the special in the app and switch it on, and it goes straight into rotation. Recurring times such as lunch and cake time are set up once as time slots.
The mandatory allergen information stays on your menu and at the counter, where guests expect it. The screen adds your changing dishes of the day.
Yes, within youth protection rules. Time slots help you place such ads where they fit.

Prices on screen follow the same price-display rules as your menu posted outside. The offer page shows price and supporting line clearly.
Bright and moving screens facing a road are governed by traffic regulations and often a local by-law. We review the location with you and set the schedule to suit your spot and opening hours.
You do. You approve every ad, exclude competitors, and can switch third-party advertising off entirely for your location.
A screen, power and internet; Wi-Fi is enough. Updates arrive over the network, and if anything hangs, the player restarts itself, even on a packed Saturday night.
